and the World

Land and Sea Shipping, has utilised this method to benefit the customers by creating many different logistics strategies, based on commodity and routings.

Anything from raw materials to finished products can be containerised, and shipped in the same condition in which it was packed.

Modern container shipping celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. Almost from the first voyage, use of this method of transport for goods grew steadily and in just five decades, container ships would carry about 60% of the value of goods shipped.

The system of “intermodalism”, is one  in which the same container and cargo, can be transported with minimum interruption via different transport modes during its journey. Containers are moved seamlessly between ships, trucks and trains. This simplified the whole logistics process, which eventually led to a revolution in cargo transportation and international trade over the next 50 years.
